About the Center for Stewardship

The Center for Stewardship was established to assist individuals and congregations in understanding what the Bible has to say about Christian stewardship. The Center's goal is to form healthy stewards and establish a healthy stewardship culture in congregations. The Center provides biblical stewardship resources for pastors, congregations, seminarians, and church planters. The Center will assist leaders in examining their own lives as God's stewards and in leading congregations in this vital area of ministry; training events will also be held.

The Need

Biblical stewardship is the free and joyous activity of the child of God and God's family, the church, in managing life and all of life's resources for God's purposes. It is about the believer's whole life as a response to God's grace in Christ. Unfortunately, for many, the concept of stewardship has been narrowed to a focus almost exclusively on financial issues in the church. Biblical stewardship is much broader and deeper.

Goals

The Center for Stewardship seeks to impact participants' lives in such a way that they understand that they are stewards by God's grace, live out what it means to be a disciple, and manage all that God entrusts to their care with joy and generosity so that His will is done and His kingdom advanced.

Benefits

Congregations and individuals seeing themselves as stewards assists in living out what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. The Center will be involved in three aspects of forming healthy stewards and establishing a healthy stewardship culture in congregations. Those areas are developing biblical stewardship resources; providing training events for leaders; and training leaders to assist pastors, seminarians, congregations, and others in developing technical and adaptive solutions to stewardship challenges.
